Periodontist
The placement of dental implants in optimally restorable positions continues to be a challenge to every implantologist. The use of surgical stents, diagnostic was ups and spacing devices in every conceivable shape and size, has done little to mitigate the challenge. Implantologists continue to struggle with ideal implant positioning and prosthodontists continue to remain unsatisfied with what they are forced to restore. Is there a way out? Is it possible to truly allow the final prosthesis to actually dictate implant positioning? Can the surgeon and the prosthodontists meet on common ground and generate predictable outcomes for patients? Information technology probably holds the answers to these and many other questions. This presentation will focus on the prosthodontic facets of computer guided surger, enabling understanding of the entire treatment workflow from planning to prosthesis. From the final desired prosthetic position being the starting point in planning to the end point marvel of CAD-CAM designed avante-grade prosthetic solutions, the presentation will enable understanding of a new standard of care in dental implantology that will define benchmarks in the future.
